Design

VIEWPOINT

God created the universe and instituted the order that we see today. The design is so complex that the chances of things being the way they are are so astronomical that the only way for the evolutionists can make it reasonable is to associate billions of years with the progression of events.

FACT

Things are the way they are and work the way they do.

BLUE VIEWPOINT

I believe in serendipitous events. Good things can happen by accident. However, the sheer number of perfect "accidents" that the evolutionists ask us to believe without a shred of proof is ridiculous. There must have been a Designer to make things the way they are.

"I needed me, so I became."

I recently read "The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins. His constant inference was that each of the beneficial mutations of evolution resulted because of some need of the organism that evolved. Without stating it in so many words, he implied that sheer will power caused the mutation to solve some problem of the mutant. I wondered how anyone could accept the arguments it contains without wondering about the sanity of the author. I then realized that it is merely a matter of perspective.

You learned that in school?

That perspective depends entirely on one's acceptance of early grade school indoctrination, and subsequent reinforcement throughout the public education system. With no proof, very little science, and a continuous mantra of "evolution is a fact, not theory", each student is required to learn this material to pass the tests that will provide them with an opportunity to get a job. If the students question conventional wisdom, they fail. That failure is an insurmountable stigma in today's society. There is little room left for true independent thought, and no room allowed for anti-establishment thought.

If you doubt that statement about failure, let me tell you sometime about the time my grade on a paper was reduced because I did not agree with the Evolution concept. Questioning the professor made no difference as he told me that I was demonstrating my ignorance of "accepted science", and he could not approve a higher grade. By the way, the paper was a science fiction paper I wrote for an English Literature class in college.

Well?

If you are walking across a desert and come upon a perfect 1957 Chevy, or in Richard Dawkins' case, a watch, would you assume that the wind, rain and sand had created it? The design demands an author. An atheist was once asked if he thought that Mount Rushmore could have been caused by the wind and weather. He said, "Of course not, it took a long time and a lot of skill to create." Yet the same person thinks that the original four men that were the models for the mountain carving were themselves created by accident. My point is only that the simplest explanation is often the best.
